Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 24 May 2026

These terms set out the contract between you and us when you commission a piece of art from Artair.

We've written them in plain English. They are designed to be fair to both sides. If anything is unclear, write to us at hello@artair.gallery before placing your commission.

By submitting a commission brief, you confirm that you've read and accept these terms — including the fact that, because every commission is made bespoke for you, we do not accept returns or refunds outside the specific circumstances set out in Section 7.

1. About Artair — please read this first

Artair is an AI-powered art commission service. Every artist on the Artair roster is an imagined creative identity — a designed character with a defined style, palette, and world. They are not real people. The artwork you commission is generated by artificial intelligence working within that artist's creative framework, then reviewed by a human before it is sent to you.

What this means in practice:

We make this clear upfront because we believe it's the only honest way to offer this service. If you would prefer to commission work from a human artist who paints, draws, or photographs by hand, Artair is not the right place for you, and we're happy to refer you elsewhere.

2. Who we are

3. The commission

When you submit a commission brief, we will:

  1. Generate three unique concepts in your chosen artist's style, based on your brief.
  2. Review each concept by hand before sending them to you.
  3. Email you a private link to preview the concepts.
  4. Ask you to choose your favourite, or request one round of revisions if none of the three are quite right.
  5. After payment, upscale, sign, print, frame, and ship your chosen piece.

Each commission is a one-of-one. We do not sell the same artwork twice.

4. Price and payment

5. Revisions

The concept stage is where your commission gets shaped. Because every piece is made bespoke for you, this is the right moment to tell us what isn't working — not after the piece has been printed and framed.

6. Delivery

7. Returns and refunds

No returns on bespoke commissions

Every Artair commission is bespoke — generated specifically to your brief, signed in your artist's name, and printed and framed for you. Under UK consumer law (the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013), bespoke and personalised goods are exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off period.

This means that, once you have chosen your concept and paid, we do not accept returns or refunds on the basis of change of mind, second thoughts about the colour, sizing concerns about the room, or any other reason within your control.

The concept stage (Section 5) is the right place to make sure the piece is what you want. You see the artwork before you pay, with one revision round included if the first three concepts aren't right. We won't begin production until you've approved a concept.

Cancelling before payment

You can cancel your commission at no cost at any time before you've paid. Simply email hello@artair.gallery and we'll close the commission with no charge.

Damaged in transit

If your artwork arrives damaged, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply. We will arrange a free replacement reprint at no cost to you.

To make a claim:

Faulty or defective artwork

If your artwork has a manufacturing defect — for example, a printing fault, framing damage that wasn't caused in transit, or a piece that is materially different from the concept you approved — your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply.

Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs and a description of the issue. We will repair, replace, or refund at our discretion.

Non-delivery

If your artwork does not arrive within 30 working days of payment, contact us and we will either arrange a replacement or refund you in full, at your choice.

8. Intellectual property

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for things that cannot legally be limited — including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.

Subject to that, our total liability for any commission is limited to the price you paid for it.

We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or any consequential losses.

10. Complaints

If something goes wrong, please email hello@artair.gallery and we'll do our best to put it right.

We do not currently belong to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme. If we can't resolve a complaint between us, you can take it to your local Trading Standards office (via the Citizens Advice consumer service, 0808 223 1133 or citizensadvice.org.uk) or pursue a claim through the small claims court.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

For commissions already in progress, the terms in force at the time you submitted your brief will continue to apply.

13. Contact
